If you are a fan of The Legend of Zelda, you are likely wondering when the game will celebrate its 35th anniversary. After all, the series has impacted the lives of many over the years. Nintendo hasn’t done much to commemorate the anniversary. But it is possible they are planning to do something.

The Legend of Zelda was released on the NES on February 21, 1986. Over the years, it has become one of Nintendo’s most popular and enduring franchises. It’s touched the lives of many fans across generations and continues to influence the gaming industry.

Fans were expecting to see some new merch or games announced on the 35th anniversary. Eiji Aonuma appeared at E3 in June and promised news on a sequel to Breath of the Wild. While that didn’t happen, fans can still hope for more.

Last year, Nintendo did announce a special version of the Game & Watch for Super Mario Bros. That game featured the original game as well as a Famicom Disk System sequel. Those who bought it got a Ball with Mario’s makeover and an interactive clock. Now, Nintendo has revealed a special Game & Watch for the Legend of Zelda, which will be available November 12.

There’s also the question of price. Although the Legend of Zelda Game & Watch includes three classic games, it’s not clear if the price will affect the reception of the system.

Another question to ask is whether the Zelda game will be 2D. It’s possible the game could be a puzzler with multiple paths through the story. Or it could take advantage of the top-down view to add intricate level design.
