There are several ways to upgrade weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In addition to the obvious way of upgrading weapons with Materials, players can also fuse their existing weapons to add new abilities or bonus stats.
Fusing is the main method of powering up weapons. To fuse, players must select a weapon and press + to initiate fusion. This action guarantees that the new ability will transfer to the selected weapon.
Another way to upgrade weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is by collecting enemy dropable items. These items can be used as consumable materials, which will then be fused to the player’s main weapon. Each time a player completes a level in the game, a set of new abilities and seals are added to their main weapon.
Players can also upgrade their master weapon with the Master Trials DLC. Upgrading a master weapon increases its durability and attacks. Once upgraded, the Master Sword can attack with damage up to 60. However, the sword is still prone to wear and tear, and requires recharge after a certain number of hits.
Finally, players can purchase upgrades from the Hylian Blacksmith Guild. This shop is located in Central Hyrule. Before you can visit this location, you must first turn in a material quest.
The Hylian Blacksmith Guild is an excellent location to upgrade your weapons. Its location is just below the Korok Forest. A simple material turn-in quest will unlock the blacksmith’s door.
