Common Reoccurances

Throughout Link's many adventures, he has faced countless enemies, met many people, and visited many different villages and towns. Many of these enemies, people, and places are reoccurances, or things Link has seen before in another adventure and quest. We have listed some of the more common reoccuring items for you to familiarize yourself with.

Armos
Armos are a common species in Hyrule. These statue like creatures are usually set off on contact. Their weakness is usually bombs and explosives, but earlier in Link's adventures, they were vunerable to sword attacks. They are well armored, and usually maneuver in a hopping motion.

Aquamentus
We've seen this guy in a few Zelda titles, such as the original Legend of Zelda and the Oracle of Seasons. Links method of attack is generally the same in attacking at its head. This dragon would make a good enemy in a 3d version.

Dodongo
Dodongo's are a very common enemy. We've seen them in the original Legend of Zelda as well as Ocarina of Time, and more. They are usually fought in the same matter, where you lay a bomb for them to eat. There are cases, in which this is different, such as in Ocarina of Time. There are smaller dodongo's in which you attack the tail to do damage.

Stalfos
Stalfos are very common. Their appearance and styles change throughout each title. In the original Legend of Zelda, they were very weak and just paraded around the room. In Ocarina of Time, they have good defensive skills, and would attack with force.

Ganon
Ganon is Link's arch nemesis. Every hero has one. Ganon is always after one thing; the triforce. In the Legend of Zelda, Link crossed paths with him. A fierce battle raged on, and the only weapon Link had that could finish Ganon off was the Silver Arrow.

Ganon once again made his comeback thanks to Agahnim in A Link to the Past. Ganon had the same general appearance, but the battle lasted a bit longer. Ganon had a few new tricks up his sleeve. Ganon had actually taken control of the Triforce this time around, and set Hyrule into chaos. He made home to the Golden Realm, which was refered to as the 'Dark World'.

In Ocarina of Time, Link ran into the human form of Ganon, Ganondorf. Ganondorf is a tall, powerful Gerudo with the same frame of mind. He wants the triforce. Once Link engaged in battle, his true weakness was the Master Sword and Light Arrows. Once he damaged him enough, Ganondorf turned into his larger, much more terrifying form.

Ganon made brief appearances in other games, such as Link's Awakening where he was a shadow Nightmare.

Gohma
Link crossed paths with Gohma several times throughout his adventures. In the Legend of Zelda, Gohma's only weakness was the singular eye it had in its head, and it had to be hit with arrows. Gohma then re-appeared in Ocarina of Time, with a makeover. Once again, her weakness was the eye. It had to be attacked by a projectile as well, but this time, a deku seed.

Once again, Gohma returned in the Oracle of Seasons. Her moves variated this time, as well as her appearance. She was tougher as well.

The most radical change for Gohma, was the Wind Waker, in which she was more of a lava beast. Her weakness, was once again the eye, but other methods were needed to get to that weakness.

Tektites
These spider creatures are found in many of Link's adventures. They are a common species of Hyrule and have spread throughout the lands. They preferably choose to live in the mountainous areas, like Death Mountain. They can also be found near water. They have no real attack, besides jumping into Link.
