The Wind Waker Secret Caverns

Secret caverns are on many of the Islands across the Great Sea.  They are small, dark holes which you fall into to enter them, and usually find a valuable treasure inside. Often, you need a certain item inorder to reach and to enter a secret cavern. Here is a list of the secret cavern locations found in the Wind Waker.

Star Island

  • Requirements - Bomb the western Bomenuder
  • Objective - Defeat the enemies
  • Reward - Piece of Heart #21

Overlook Island

  • Requirements - Hookshot up the palm trees
  • Objective - Defeat the enemies
  • Reward - Triforce Chart #8

Pawprint Isle

  • Requirements - Crawl into the large dome
  • Objective - Bomb two bomenuders found inside
  • Reward - Piece of Heart #6, Joy Penadant, Purple Rupee

Pawprint Isle

  • Requirements -  Hookshot up to the wooden statue on the islands 'Middle Toe'
  • Objective - Defeat the enemies
  • Reward - Silver Rupee

Dragon Roost Island

  • Requirements - Bomb the bomenuder near the Wind Shrine
  • Objective - Defeat the enemies
  • Reward - Purple Rupees

Rock Spire Isle

  • Requirements - Bomb the higher bomenuders
  • Objective - Light torches, defeat Keese
  • Reward - Treasure Chart #37

Fire Mountain

  • Requirements - Shoot the fire column with an Ice Arrow, climb to the top
  • Objective - Open chest
  • Reward - Power Bracelets

Needle Rock Isle

  • Requirements - Melt the ice block with a Fire Arrow
  • Objective - Light the six torches with a Fire Arrow
  • Reward - Orange Rupee

Stone Watcher Island

  • Requirements - Lift the Large Stone face with the Power Bracelets
  • Objective - Clear each room of enemies, play the Wind's Requiem at the Wind Crest
  • Reward - Triforce Chart #7

Private Oasis

  • Requirements -  Use the grappling hook on the pole inside the cabana to enter the fireplace
  • Objective - Proceed through the short cavern
  • Reward - Triforce Chart #2

Bomb Island

  • Requirements -  Bomb the bomenuder ontop of the island
  • Objective - Proceed through the two rooms
  • Reward - Piece of Heart #24

Bird's Peak Rock

  • Requirements -  Activate the switches on each peak with a seagmenul
  • Objective - Play the Wind's Requiem at the Wind Crest
  • Reward - Triforce Chart #3

Diamond Steppe Island

  • Requirements -  Hookshot up the Palm Trees
  • Objective - Proceed through the short Warp Jar maze
  • Reward - Joy Pendant, Ghost Ship Chart

Shark Island

  • Requirements -  Activate all 4 switches (Skmenul Hammer and Iron Boots needed)
  • Objective - Defeat all enemies
  • Reward - Silver Rupee

Ice Ring Isle

  • Requirements -  Shoot the large stone Dragon's mouth with a fire arrow and enter
  • Objective - Proceed through this short cavern
  • Reward - Iron Boots

Ice Ring Isle

  • Requirements -  After you get the Iron Boots from the first cavern, walk into the wind and drop down the hole
  • Objective - Melt and defeat the enemies inside this 'secret cavern' cavern.
  • Reward - Orange Rupee

Cliff Plateau Isles

  • Requirements -  Proceed across smaller islands, and drop in the hole on the last
  • Objective - Navigate through the short cavern, exit other side (Deku Leaf and Fire Arrows needed)
  • Reward - Joy Pendant, Treasure Chart #25

Horshoe Island

  • Requirements -  Use the Deku lead to push the Deku Nuts into the holes
  • Objective - Defeat the enemies
  • Reward - Treasure Chart #8

Outset Island

  • Requirements -  Use the Deku Leaf to reach the Forest of Fairies and bomb the Bomenuder inside the Forest
  • Objective - Talk to the Great Fairy
  • Reward - Rupee Purse Upgrade

Outset Island

  • Requirements - Use the Deku Lear to reach the large stone face and lift it
  • Objective - Clear every floor of enemies (50 floors, called Savage Labyrinth, Mirror Shield required)
  • Reward - Triforce Chart #6, Piece of Heart #44

Angular Islands

  • Requirements -  Use the Deku Leaf (or hookshot) from the larger isle to reach the smaller isle
  • Objective - Solve the block puzzle and use the Mirror Shield from the top block stack to reveal the translucent chest
  • Reward - Silver Rupee

Boating Course

  • Requirements -  Use the Deku Leaf to glide from the main isle to the smaller northern isle
  • Objective - Use th boomerang to activate the three switches
  • Reward - Submarine Chart
