The Wind Waker Enemies
The Wind Waker has a very large overworld with many islands and a handful of dungeons and temples. Through the various areas you explore in the Wind Waker, you will encounter many different types of enemies; weak, strong, large, and perplexing. Use this guide as a reference for those enemies you have a tough time beating for weaknesses and fighting tips.
![]() | Beamos Beamos are statue like creatures. When you approach, their eye will open and they will fire a beam from it. Toss bombs as it opens its eye and jump back to avoid being hit. A direct hit will destroy this creature in one shot. It may be easier to use the bow and arrow to do the job, is you have them. |
![]() | Big Octo Another enemy you will find at sea. These octorok are absolutly huge, and at first, are a bit intimidating. Use the bombs to attack the yellow orbs on it. You can also use the bow and arrow or the boomerang to quickly do the job. |
![]() | Bokoblins These are a common enemy to find in the Wind Waker. They are pig faced enemies that you find guarding the lights at the Forsaken Fortress, and in various other areas. You can defeat them with any weapon you have. |
![]() | Boko Babas These are alot like the Deku Baba in Ocarina of Time. These plant wille emerge from their pods when you draw near. When you attack them, their heads will bounce around, making for alittle entertainment and sometimes a swing and a miss. |
![]() | Bubble Bubble are floating skulls with colored clouds of smoke around them. They will attack if you get near them. They come in different colors. Kill them with the bow, hookshot or with the boomerang. |
![]() | Chu Chu Chu Chu's are blob like enemies that wille emerge from the ground. Most you can kill with your sword. Once they die, they leave behind chu chu jelly, which when brought to the right person, can be made into a elixer. There are 5 different types of chu chu. To defeat the dark Chu Chu, reflect light into them, or draw them into the light. They will harden, leaving them vunerable to attack. |
![]() | Darknut Darknut's are very large, armored enemies, that remind me of dogs when the armor comes off. These guys have good defensive and offensive skills, so you have to fight smarter than them. Target them and wait for it to attack. When the 'A' button lights up for a parry attack, press it. Keep performing parry attacks until you remove its armor. You can fight him straight up or continue with the parry attacks until dead. |
![]() | Floor Master These guys disguise themselves as shadowy puddles on the ground. When you approach, they spring out and try to grab you. If they pull you in, you will appear in another room of the current dungeon. |
![]() | Gyorg You will find these enemies out at sea. These sharks will swim up and ram the King of Red Lions, sending you flying off. Use the bow or boomerang to kill them. |
| Kargorok These enemies are the birds you find around the many islands of the Great Sea. They are a very weak enemy that can be defeated with any weapon. | |
![]() | Keese Keese are another very common enemy in the Zelda series. These bat like creatures will fly around, swooping down to attack. You can kill them with pretty much anything you can get your hands on. |
![]() | Large Armos Knight These guys are quite big, and like their smaller counterparts, lined with spikes around their lower half. They will hop about three times, and stop and open their mouths. When they do this, toss a bomb in their mouth. Before they blow, they will make a few final hops in an attempt to kill you. |
![]() | Magtail Magtail are enemies found near lava. They look like centipedes with pincers at their mouths. When the pincer opens, hit the eye. It will roll back into a protective ball. Attack it and it will burst. You can also pick them up and set them down where needed. |
![]() | Miniblin These guys suck! They are small and seem to come out of nowhere. They carry around little spears which they use to poke you with. They also make annoying chirping sounds (like a Finch). Any weapon will do, just make them suffer. |
![]() | Moblin Moblins are a very common enemy to the Legend of Zelda series. They are large enemies in this game, and are very aggressive. They will punch you and use an weapon they are armed with, so beware. They can, when equipped with a good weapon, block your attacks. Use the parry attack, the bow and arrow, or the boomerang on them. |
![]() | Morth Morth a small spiked creatures that latch onto you to slow you down. They can be spawned from Mothula's or found randomly, usually in wooded or grassy areas. Perform a spin attack to rid yourself of these pests. |
![]() | Mothula These creatures come with and without wings. They will release swarms of Morth to slow you down. Use the fire arrows to quickly get this guy out of the sky, or the boomerang. Attack them with the sword to finish them off. |
| Octorok These are yet another common enemy to the Zelda series. These creatures are found near water, and will fire rocks at you through their snout. You can deflect it with the shield back into them to quickly dispose of them. | |
![]() | Peahat Peahats make a return in the Wind Waker, this time as a smaller enemy. Use the boomerang to kill them quickly. If you don't yet have it, you can use the Deku Leaf to stun them and your sword to kill them. The bow and arrow and hookshot are also effective weapons. |
![]() | Poe Ghosts These ghosts can be a pain, because they will get inside you causing the controls to reverse. You need to reflect light into them with the mirror shield until they become solid, then attack them. You could allow them to possess you, but it may take awhile until you get your controls back. |
![]() | Rats Rats are theives! You will find them in various places. They will emerge from a hole to steal stuff from you. You can kill them with the bow or boomerang, or you can spread out some bait for them. Who knows what will happen when you do that... |
![]() | Re-Dead Man, these guys are creepy in this game, even celshaded. When you get near them, they will shriek and open their jaw. If you can't get away in time, they will latch on to you. You can use your sword on them and arrows. Even better, stun them by reflecting light into them with the Mirror Shield. |
![]() | Small Armos These are just the small ones. They will hop slowly after you, and have spikes lining their bodies. The object is to hit them on their backside, where a redish orb is. This can be touch if there are many in the room. You can either throw bombs and try to get them to walk into the explosion, you shoot their eye with an arrow to make them stop hopping. |
![]() | Stalfos A common enemy to the Legend of Zelda series. These guys can be a pain. They carry around big billy clubs and will spin attack you with it. First, use the boomerang to spin its head. Attack it with your sword. Once he stops his head, use the boomerang again. Eventually, it will burst into pieces, and the head will hop around. Attack its head. If it re-assembles, continue this pattern. |
![]() | Wizzrobes Wizzrobes are magical creatures that will teleport across the room and fire three fireballs at you. Some even summon other creatures. When out of reach, use the bow and arrow to hit them, otherwise use your sword. You can also stun them with the boomerang. |
