The Wind Waker Bosses

There are several bosses to defeat in your adventure through the Wind Waker, and it can be frustrating at times to fight them. Each temple boss is well armored and suits their environment, so finding their weakness can be hard at times.

Wind Waker Gohma Gohma Battle Strategy

  • Grapple Valoo's tail, swing and let go!
  • Grapple Gohma's eye once shell is removed
  • Attack eye with sword
Use the grapple hook to latch onto and swing from the Dragons Tail. Once your headed towards a platform, let go and the ceiling will drop onto your foe. This fight is much easier if you can manage to stay up on the higher platforms. Once you drop the ceiling enough, Gohma's hard shell will crack and fall off. Now that Gohma is vunerable to your attack, aim the grapple hook at its eye. Once you score a hit, it will drop allowing you ample opportunity to slash at its eye. Repeat until dead.

Wind Waker Kalledemos Kalle Demos Battle Strategy

  • Target vines with boomerang and destroy them
  • Attack the creature in the middle
You will notice this guy hanging from the ceiling. Use your boomerang to target the vines holding him up and break them. Once you break through the vine, it will fall and you can run up to attack the base of it. He will soon return back to the ceiling, so repeat this process again.

Wind Waker Gohdan Gohdan Battle Strategy

  • Target and shoot targets on hand with bow
  • Bomb his mouth when open

This reminds me of the Metroid Zero Mission fight in Chozo Ruins. To hurt this guy, you gotta shoot each hand and eye with the Hero's Bow twice. He will attack you a few ways.

He will knock you out of the arena onto an electrified floor with his hands.
He will smack at you with his hands, and try to clap you inbetween them.
He will breathe fire at you. Run around the arena in a wide angle to avoid.

Once you have hit both hands and eyes twice with the Hero's Bow, he will drop with his mouth open. Toss a bomb into it Now repeat the whole process two more times.

Wind Waker Helmarok King Helmaroc King Battle Strategy

  • Avoid attacks and wait for him to get his beak stuck
  • Hit him in the head with the Skull Hammer
  • When mask breaks off, attack head with sword
Run to the top of the tower up the stairs avoiding this guy. He will knock you down, and that isnt cool at all. Once you make it to the top, he will fly around and swoop down to attack you. Avoid this, and he will eventually land. He will approach you, and try to peck you, but his beak will get stuck. Use the skull Hammer to hit his head. Repeat this until the mask breaks off. Repeat the process the same way, but when his beak gets stuck, attack his head with your sword.

Wind Waker Jalhalla Jalhalla Battle Strategy

  • Reflect light into Jalhalla using the Mirror Shield
  • Toss him into the wall spikes
  • Destroy the smaller Jalhalla
To begin with, reflect light into this guy. Once he is calm, lift him and toss him into the spikes on the wall. This will cause him to split into several smaller pieces. Destroy as many as you can at once, because they will pull together again. Repeat this and continue to destroy the smaller pieces of this guy until there is nothing left.

Wind Waker Molgera Molgera

  • Target Molgera's tongue with the Hookshot and pull it towards you
  • Attack tongue with your sword
  • Target any smaller Molgera in the sand and remove them with the hookshot
When Molgera emerges, target his tongue with the hookshot. Pull it out with the hookshot and attack it wildly with your sword. Eventually, smaller versions of this guy will appear swarming their way through the sand. Target them if they get annoying, and use the hookshot to pull them out from the sand. Kill them and repeat the process against your larger enemy.

Wind Waker Phantom Ganon Phantom Ganon

  • Volley blue energy attacks with your sword until he is struck, attack him with your sword
  • Use spin attack to deflect red energy attacks
  • If he creates clones, attack them until you find the real Phantom Ganon
Phantom Ganon will have three main attacks. If he hurls a blue energy ball at you, volley it back and forth with your sword. Once he misses and gets hit by it, run up and attack him. He may hurl a red energy ball at you. You need to deflect this with a spin attack. He might make clones of himself at some point, so attack them quickly to show the true Phantom.

Wind Waker Puppet Hanon Puppet Ganon

  • Target the puppet strings with the boomerang, except the tail, and break them
  • Shoot the orb on the tail with a light arrow
Now, you get to fight the beginning of a series of fights with Ganon. Target the strings with the boomerang except for the one to its tail. Once they break, he will swing around. When it slows down, shoot the orb on his tail with a light arrow. Repeat this until you reach his next stage.

Spider Puppet
  • Run, circling the room
  • Shoot tail with light arrow when you have the change
Keep on the move because this guy likes to drop from the ceiling. Wait for your opportunity to shoot its tail again with light arrows. Repeat this to move on to the final stage. Worm Puppet
  • Stun Ganon by attacking head with your sword or light arrows
  • Hit its tail with a light arrow
This guy moves quick, so watch out. Attack its head with your sword or arrows to stun him momentarilly. You dont have much time, so pull out the light arrow and attack its tail. A few hits in, and he is toast. Simple.

Wind Waker Ganondorf Ganondorf

  • Attack and Dodge!
  • When the A Button, action icon lights up, press A and score a good hit
  • Deflect Zelda's light arrow with the Mirror Shield
This is an all out sword fight from hell. Keep attacking Ganondorf with different attacks. You will notice the A button light up from time to time. You gotta hit A once it lights up and score a hit that lands. Once you land enough hits, Zelda will aim the light arrows at you. No worries, the Mirror Shield will deflect it into him. Watch this nice shot Link takes to finish Ganondorf off. Its nice.
