The Wind Waker Big Octos

Big Octo's lurk the waters of the Great Sea, terrorizing anything small enough to sink into it's whirlpool. These large Octo sit atop treasure chests that are deep below the waters, and the only way to retrieve these chests is to defeat the Big Octo. Use this guide to find each Big Octo location in the Great Sea.

Big Octo Seven Star Island Seven Star Isles
  • Big Octo Type : 12 Eyed
  • Reward : Piece of Heart #15
    • Sail towards the circling flock of sea gulls to find this Big Octo. The boomerang is probably your weapon of choice, as you can target up to five of the twelve eyes at once.
    Big Octo Tingle Island Tingle Island
  • Big Octo Type : 12 Eyed
  • Reward : Piece of Heart #17
    • Sail towards the circling flock of sea gulls to find this Big Octo. The boomerang is probably your weapon of choice, as you can target up to five of the twelve eyes at once.
    Big Octo Fire Mountain Fire Mountain
  • Big Octo Type : 8 Eyed
  • Reward : Orange Rupee
    • Sail towards the circling flock of sea gulls to find this Big Octo. The boomerang is probably your weapon of choice, but since this beast has eight eyes, the bomb cannon would work fine too. Close all this creatures eyes and retrieve your Orange Rupee from the waters.

  • Big Octo Type : 8 Eyed
  • Reward : Silver Rupee
    • Sail towards the circling flock of sea gulls to find this Big Octo. The boomerang is probably your weapon of choice, but since this beast has eight eyes, the bomb cannon would work fine too. Close all this creatures eyes and retrieve your Silver Rupee from the waters.

  • Reward : Silver Rupee

  • Reward : Double Magic Meter Upgrade
    • Sail towards the circling flock of sea gulls to find this Big Octo. The boomerang can target all four of its eyes, but bombs work too. Once you defeat this beast, you will free a trapped fairy who will upgrade your magic meter.
