Twilight Princess Items

Twilight Princess has several new items which you must hunt down and gather during your quest. Here, we will help you find each of those items and describe them a bit.

Swords

Wooden Sword
The Wooden Sword is given to you by a villager. It is dull and very weak, but its what you learn with in the beginning. It soon gets replaced.

Ordon Sword
This is the first sword you get in Twilight Princess. It is obtained as Wolf Link after you dig under the house in Ordon Village.

Master Sword
This legendary weapon was blessed by the spirits of Hyrule.  It will act as a key to enter the Temple of Time and is much more powerful.

Light Sword
This upgrade comes after you liberate two Sols from the Palace of Twilight.  It is more powerful than the regular Master Sword and can burn away fog made from Shadow Crystals.


Shields

Ordon Shield
This is the first shield you get for Midna. It is kinda cheap and will burn if touched by fire.

Hylian Shield
This shield is fireproof and protects you much better. 

Wooden Shield
This is similar to Ordon Shield.  It can burn.


Armor and Tunics

Zora Armor
This is a gift from the Zora queen.  This allows you to swim freely and breathe underwater.

Magic Armor
This armor will make you invincible as long as you have rupees.   When you run out of rupees (it continually drains them) it will make you move slower due to its weight.


Items and Equipment

Fishing Rod
The fishing rod allows you to fish in streams and bodies of water. Cast and use it with B.

Slingshot
The slingshot has been seen before in several Zelda games. This one is no different, unless your playing the Wii version. You cna fire pellets or pumpkin seeds from it.

Lantern
The lantern is used to light dark places so you can see. You need lantern oil to keep using, however.

Gale Boomerang
The Fairy of Winds resides inside the Gale Boomerang.  You can charge up a toss which will unleash a whirlwind of power and can suck objects up.  You can also lock onto 5 targets at once.

Bombs
You can use bombs to break down walls and obstacles as well as damage enemies.  You use bombs with the B button.

Water Bombs
Regular bombs wont burn underwater, but these bombs will!  You will collect these in Zora's Domain and Kakriko Village.

Hero's Bow
The Hero's Bow has a far greater reach than the slingshot, and far greater power.  It can be used to attack enemies or hit switches.  It controls the same as the slingshot.

Iron Boots
With Iron Boots, you become so heavy not even a Goron can move you!  These are given to you by the Mayor after you sumo wrestle him.

Hawkeye
Giving the sharp vision of a hawk, the Hawkeye acts like a telescope.  When used with a bow, it acts as a sniper's scope.

Clawshot and Double Clawshot
The clawshot is similar to the hookshot.  It will grapple certain targets and pull you to it.  The Double Clawshot is much more versatile.  You can dangle using one while you use the second to shot out to a target.

Spinner
The spinner will allow you to float over dangerous surfaces, ride on tracks, and activate certain mechanisms.  It can also be used to attack enemies.

Ball and Chain
While this can cause you to move slowly, you can use it to punch through large obstacles and much larger enemies.

Dominion Rod
This handy rod will let you bring some innanimate objects to life!  The object will follow your every move. 

Bombling
These bombs will move on their own.They come equipped with legs and will scatter across the surface to blow many things up.

Ilia's Charm
This is another traded item you will get to restore Ilia's memory.

Vessel of Light
You use the Vessel of Light to collect the Tears that cut throught darkness. When full of tears, you can dispell Twilight to return the land to its light filled state.

Bottles and Bottled Items

Bottles
Bottles in Twilight Princess function like bottles in every other Zelda. You can use them to store valuables such as bee larva in or milk.

Bee Larva
Bee Larve is found by breaking bee's nests. With this, you can use it as bait for your fishing rod to catch fish with. You can also eat the bee larva. In the Wii version, use the Wii mote to point to an item and B to scoop the bee larva up.

Milk
Using Milk will allow you to replish a small amount of your health.

Lantern Oil
Lantern is used by the lantern. It's almost how you needed magic in A Link to the Past to use the lantern.

Chu Jellies
The Chu Jellies have the same effect as the potions of the same color.  Purple Chu Jelly is random, and Rare Chu Jelly will give you full health and increased attack power for a short time.


Collectibles and Rareties

Fairy Tears
You can get these as a gift  from Jovani and find them in the springs after your Cave of Ordeals adventure.  These will fill your hearts and increase your attack power temporarily.

Fused Shadow
Fused shadow are what the light spirit called Dark Power.  There is a total of three fused shadow.

Shadow Crystal
Midna will use this to transform you between Wolf and Man.

Mirror Shards
Pieces to the Mirror of Light are needed to restore Hyrule.  You'll find 4 pieces all together.

Poe Souls
You will hunt down many Poe Souls later in your adventure.  Jovani has lost his soul to greed, so you'll need to bring him 20 poe souls.  Later, he will ask for 60.


Letters and Documents

Letters
The Postman pops up alot and gives you letters.  You can read through them by pressing + on the Wiimote.  Some will point to new missions and some will tell you about new items.

Auru's Memo
Adventurer Auru will give you this to convince cannon operator Fyer to offer you a new destiniation in the Eastern Desert.

Ashei's Sketch
Part of the quest that leads you to Snowpeak Ruins, Ashei's sketch depicts a young Yeti holding a Reekfish.  After you show the sketch to Prince Ralis of Zora's Domain, he'll give you the Coral Earring.

Renado's Letter
This is one piece of the puzzle to reviving Ilia's memory.

Invoice
Telma will give you this, and is the second piece of the puzzle to Ilia's memory.


Quest Items

Rupees
Rupees are found all throughout the land, under rocks, bushes, or even after defeating an enemy.  You use rupees to buy supplies and potions.

  • Green - 1 Rupee
  • Blue - 5 Rupees
  • Yellow - 10 Rupees
  • Red - 20 Rupees
  • Purple - 50 Rupees

Heart
Hearts will refill any lost health. They can be found by lifting rocks, cutting grass and bushes, by defeating enemies, and numerous other methods.

Horse Grass
Horse grass looks like horseshoe shaped grass.  When you pick it up, you can use it to call Epona.

Hawk Grass
This is small blades of grass that you can pick up off the ground.  When played, it will call a hawk which you can direct to do certain things, such as knock down bee's nests.

Pumpkin Seeds
Pumpkin seeds can be used as ammo for your slingshot should you run out of pellets.

Ooccoo
If you call her in a dungeon, she will let you out and return to where you want. Use and set her to B button.

Ooccoo Jr.
Ooccoo Jr accompanies you once you leave a dungeon so you can return to the dungeon when you please.

Worm
Using your K-9 senses, you can uncover worms and bottle them up.  You can then use it as bait for fishing.

Coral Earring
Prince Ralis of Zora's Domain wears an earring made of the type of coral that the red Reekfish nibble on.  On your way to Snowpeak Ruins, you'll collect the unusual piece of jewelry from the prince and use it to pluck on of the rough beauties from the water.

Wooden Figure
When you attempt to restore Ilia's memory, you'll trade for items, this being one.
