Phantom Hourglass Items
Phantom Hourglass came up a little short on quantity of items featured in the game, but those that were had very intuitive controls due to the nature of the Nintendo DS. This guide, which was written by Shrukan, will help you locate each item and describe it's basic usage.
Boomerang
A standard item that is used to activate switches from far away. You can use the stylus to draw the path for the boomerang. Effective to stun enemies for a short time. Found in the Temple of Fire.
Bombs
Used to blow up walls and damage enemies. Tap thew screen where you want to throw it. Found in the Temple of Gusts.
Bow and Arrows
Used to activate switches and damage enemies. Hold the stylus firmly on the screen and aim at the enemy to hit them with an arrow. Found in the Temple of Courage.
Grappling Hook
Aim the grappling hook at torches or polls and you'll be instantly pulled towards them! You can also throw the grappling hook between two torches or polls and use it like a large rubber band.
Bombchus
Same as the boomerang, but really in bomb form. Draw a path and the bombchu will follow it. Found in the Goron Temple.
Hammer
Hold the hammer in mid-air and it'll be supper charged! Used to hit rusty switches and deal massive damage! Found in Mutoh's Temple.
Shovel
Used to dig up places. You get it on Molida Island.
