While chasing after Epona's thief, Link had mysteriously ventured into this land. It's inhabitants deeply resembled those he had met before. He learned of this lands peril and the corruption surrounding it. The towns people here did not believe in the Triforce and three goddesses, but instead, 4 giants. After Link cleared the evil from the dungeons he found, the 4 giants caught the moon. But they couldn't save the world, it was up to Link to defeat the ultimate evil plaguing the land of Termina.

The Great Sea
Hyrule was once flooded by the gods to protect the land from the evil that was inhabiting it. Ganondorf was seeking control of Hyrule and creating chaos in the world. The Great Sea is what is left after the flooding. Islands, which were the peaks of the highest points of Hyrule, are home to many new species and cultures. The islands seem to reflect locations specific to the legend told in Ocarina of Time.

Many inhabitants of Holodrum are similar to some of those back on Hyrule, such as the the Maku Tree (which is similar to the Great Deku Tree).

Holodrum is best known as the land where the great battle between Link and the General of Darkness, Onox, took place. The Oracle of Seasons, Din, was captured by the evil general and taken deep into Holodrum where General Onox used Din's powers to disrupt the seasons of Holodrum, throwing the land into chaos.

New Hyrule
Many, many years after the devistation from the Great Flood, a new land takes shape from the remnants of earlier Hyrule. The land is once agian plagued with disease, peril, and threatened by greed. The lands suffered more war, and much more death. The land at this point isn't well defined. New Hyrule emerged shortly after these events.

New Hyrule marked a new era in Hyrulian history. War seemed to be over and Ganondorf appeared finally to be dead. Towns were erected and took the names of the past sages that fought for what Hyrule has become and to rid the land completely of its evil.

The Dark World
The Dark World used to be the Sacred Realm. As Ganon was able to gain possession of the triforce, the triforce created an evil world out of the Sacred Realm that directly reflected what was in Ganon's heart. The Dark World was overrun by thieves and evil monsters which threatened the Light World, or Hyrule.

As Agahnim lost the first battle with Link, he whisked him away to the Dark World, hoping he would forever be imprisoned in this foul land. The only hope for excape was to rescue the seven maidens and defeat Ganon, claiming control over the triforce.

Once Link defeated Ganon, he touched the triforce and wished for the Dark World to return to its former beauty, the Sacred Realm, and for peace in Hyrule.
