Cultures and Races
Hyrule is a vast world filled with many different races and cultures. Many of these races and cultures befriend Link and help him throughout his quests providing aid and important items or clues. Here, you can learn abit more about the many cultures and diverse races in Hyrule.

The Deku
The Deku are a race found widely in Hyrule. They are small plantlike people that usually live near the forests. They can burrow themselves for protection and fire rocks from their snouts to attack a threatening enemy. Alot of Deku have treasures they sell to travelers, but the price you pay is not always fair.
Not all Deku are friendly towards humans and other races. Often, they can be 'tamed' by minor attacks, which lead to them giving up before they can be fatally injured by an enemy defending from the Deku.

The Gorons
The Gorons are a rock eating people that you can usually find in the hotter, mountainous areas of the land. The mountains are their best source for food, and is one of the best regions to keep from intruding outsiders. The Gorons are usually led by one leader, but have been known to support other forms of leadership by electing many 'wisemen'.
The Gorons are usually a friendly people, willing to help their friends in times of need and like to interact with humans and other races. History has told of harder times where the Gorons have distanced themselves from humans and other races, but only temporarily due to events happening in Hyrule.

The Zoras
The Zora's are secluded, fish-like people that can be found near the waters; more specifically, Lake Hylia and Zora's Domain. The Zora have long been known as guardian's of Hyrule's water source and have been known only to open their doors to messangers of the Royal Family of Hyrule.
The Zora's are most well known for their extreme agility in water. Their natural advantage is their superior swimming abilities, which allows them to retreat quickly from danger and excape from those that cannot enter the waters. Their people are led by a king.

The Kokiri Children
The Kokiri are children that dwell in the forests. They are not aggressive or violent in nature, and rarely leave the forest due to the dangers that threaten them. The Kokiri build their entire community from the natural resources of the forests; their houses made from stumps and trees, their swords and shields from the bark and wood of the trees. They even use nuts to create a flash to stun any enemy and to shoot through slingshots.
The Kokiri Children are led by the Great Deku Tree. The Great Deku Tree is a wise, animate tree which guards the Kokiri Emerald. The Great Deku Tree was killed by a curse placed upon him by Ganondorf, but later, a sappling grew from the Great Deku Tree family.

The Korok

The Korok
The Korok are a small group of forest dwelling people. They are led by the Great Deku Tree and live in the Forest Haven. The Korok are likely decendants of the Kokiri, a group of forest dwelling children in older Hyrule. Hyrule was flooded, and what cultures did manage to survive had to adapt to new environments. This new form better suits them, as they can fly shortly to stay away from the dangers that threaten them from the grounds. They are a very small people, and very musically inclined.

The Kokiri Children

Hylians
Hylians are the most powerful, gifted race found in Hyrule. They have long pointed ears and are known to have extremely great magical abilities. Hylians can be found dispersed all across Hyrule and generally get along with other races and people.
Two great wars in the history of Hyrule has reduced the population of Hylian's significantly. Ganondorf, the Leader of the Gerudo and King of Darkness, has waged wars on Hyrule that has claimed many lives and usually sets the general plot to each Legend of Zelda adventure.

The Sheikah
The Sheikah are the race that look after the Royal Fmaily. All the Sheikah but Impa lost their lives in the Great War. Impa now looks after Princess Zelda.
The Sheikah are very mysterious people. They are responsible for the initial development of Kakariko Village, and their family and history were buried in the Kakariko Graveyard. The Sheikah were also said to have watched over the Shadow Temple, a sacred temple that contained an ancient evil of the Shadows.

Gerudo
The Gerudo live off in the deserts in fortresses. They are well known as theives and often don't let outsiders into their camp, and rarely leave their fortresses unless its for a man or to steal. The Gerudo are 99% woman, but once every 100 years a male is born into the tribe and is destined to be the leader of all Gerudo. The most famous Gerudo is Ganondorf.
Link is eventually able to befriend the Gerudo by proving himself. After fighting the female warrior and defeating her, she gives him a card and the other Gerudo accept him into the fortress without threat.

Skull Children
The Skull Children are found roaming the Lost Woods. They are fond of children and have a passion towards music. Adults are their number one enemy, however. some Skull Children are known to be theives, and get themselves into a bit of trouble at times.
Skull Children like to play games and toy with outsiders, namely adults. Alot of times, they use magic to hide paths and confuse the outsider.

Fairies
Fairies are a race many people overlook. They are found all over the World of Hyrule. Fairies have the power to heal the wounded and sometimes bring the dead back to life. They like to hide in bushes and near small pools of water. There are larger fairies that are known to give people magical powers and upgrade's, such as Din's Fire, and Golden Swords.

The Minish
The Minish are thought to be but legend. They are so small that people never notice them in their normal everyday lives. Some live in Hyrule Town with people, but most in the forests in small villages. They choose to show themselves only to children.
The Minish, like Hylians, possess great magical abilities. They often forge magical items and leave them around for humans to find. It is said the Minish decended from the skies to Hyrule and helped a young boy defeat a great evil. They were responsible for the Four Sword, a sword with the ability to seperate the weilder into four people.

Subrosians
Subrosians live in a boiling land, underground, shrouded by volcanoes. The race is a very secluded people who wear caped hoods to hide their identity. Very little else is known about the Subrosians. They live on their homeland of Subrosia.
Despite their harsh conditions and their trouble with the Temple of Seasons, they still continue everyday life as usual. The lot of Subrosians are miners and use Ore Chunks as currency.

Garo

The Rito
The Rito are a group of people that can be found on Dragon Roost Island. Hyrule was flooded, and cultures had to adapt to their new environment. It is said, the Zora's evolved into what now is the Rito. Alot of people doubt this fact because it doesn't make much sense for a water dwelling creature to need to adapt to life outside of the waters.
The Rito are quite friendly and wise people. The Great Sea's postman is from the Rito culture.

Garo
The Garo are a race of undead spies. They are found in Ikana Canyon, mostly, which is located in Termina. It is said that you can call them out with the Garo Mask, to do battle. If you defeat them, they will give you hints and information. Very little else is known about them and their history.

Aliens
This is a very uncommon race. They are known to abduct cows for an unknown purpose. Other than that, very little is known about them.
