Creation of Hyrule

Creating Hyrule
Long ago, three goddesses decended from the heavens upon the earth. The world was bare; lifeless, lawless, and inhabantless. The three goddesses were Din, goddess of power, Nayru, goddess of Wisdom, and Farore, goddess of Courage.

Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land to create the earth we know as Hyrule. She laid fire and lava into the mountains, water to the lakes, trees to the forests, and so on. Nayru gave spirit of law to the land for all its inhabitants to abide by. Farore created all life forms which would inhabit the land; the Zoras, Kokiri, Hylians, and so on.

The goddesses ascended into the heavens, and where the exited the land, laid a golden relic called the Triforce. (Refer to 'The Triforce' for more information)

Hyrule's Destruction, the Great Sea
As time progressed, Hyrule was threatened by an evil power. Hyrule fell under great attack and war, and no hero was there to fend off the evil and save the land. The goddesses flooded the land in order to protect it from this evil man.

Life continued, though, as what species and creatures were able to survive fled to the highest mountain tops which formed the several islands of the waters. Many creatures evolved to new lives on the islands and took up new occupations. Life seemed easy and peaceful, for the time being.

A New Hyrule is Born
Ages after the Great Sea, when the waters finally settled, a New Hyrule was born. The land began taking shape naturally once more, and life once again thrived peacefully. The lands formed areas similar to that in its past. Hyrule was in a (short) time of peace.

The era of peace came to an end, as Ganon once again threatened the land and life of Hyrule. War and chaos began to break out in the land once again, and once more Hyrule's destiny was in the hands of a young hero, a decendant from the bloodline of the original Link.
